Culinary Arts (Cooking) 

The culinary arts program is a complete overview of the most common Greek cooking techniques and associated food preparationfrom both past and present eras. Through practical examples we will explain how these recipes are formulated with combinations of  the most basic ingredients. The nutritional values of the modern Mediterranean cuisine  will be explained from a Greek cooking perspective and the participants will learn to create their own dishes with a healthy future in mind. This is a course that is not only challenging but the fruits of which can be enjoyed on the spot! Experience that will follow you for a Lifetime.

Day 5 – Friday 9:00 – 09:15:

Those participants who have chosen one of our affiliated hotels will be picked up at their respective hotels for transfer to the Restaurant of our choice in the Glyfada vicinity area. Other participants need to get to the location on their own.  Classes start at 09:30.


09:30 – 12:30:

The morning hours will be devoted to a general introduction to the history of Cooking,  we will then focus on various distinct cooking  categories  specifically:

 
Session 1.


"Acient Greek cooking, " is a general overview of  how ad what the Greec civilization cooked, the various ingredients used, and the relationship with their social practices and religious beliefes, in addition to teh natural resources available at the time. 


Session 2.

 "Greek Cooking thruogh time, is a presentation of how the Greek culinary arts and how they evolved thruoght the various eras , from BC era to teh present days, there will be visual and auditive media for the presentation. 

 There will be a 15 minute break after sessions 1 and 2.

12:30 – 13:30: Lunch. There are many different restaurants within walking distance from the academy. However, we hope that most of you will join us at the premises where there will be available food for the participats. 

13:30 – 15:30: The afternoon session will introduce the practical sampels of Greek cooking, showing Greek  ingredients, from spices, herbs, animal derived foods, and the way tehy are combined for the final finishd dishes. A Greek cooking book will be given to all participants as a gift of appreciation for the program completion.

Session 3
.


The Greek islands have produced their own distinct dance forms and we have chosen to feature the "Cyrtos", from the islands of Kiklades and Crete.  
There will be a 15 minute break before the final review.


15:30:
16:00 Certificate delivery of course completion to all participans.

16:00 -  16:30 Bus pickup at the academy for transfer back to hotels.
